Crafts, Creative Workshops and Craft Masterclasses
At the exhibition "Fashion and Textile 2013", taking place at Ķīpsala 19–20 April 10:00–18:00 and 21 April 10:00–16:00, there will also be a wide range of crafts and craft masterclasses. Every exhibition visitor will be able to choose crafts and craft materials that suit their taste, or learn to create beautiful things that will serve as both a luxurious addition to a costume, hairstyle and interior, and an original gift for friends and loved ones. Those interested in the masterclasses organised by "Coats Latvija" must register in advance. Each masterclass can accommodate 10 participants, who will be provided with all the necessary materials. Other exhibition visitors will be able to observe.

This year the exhibition will feature a wide variety of masterworks offered by Latvian and international companies and craftspeople - knitwear, textile mosaics, embroidery, leather goods, jewellery in various techniques, diverse fashion accessories, exclusive clothing details, bags, wallets, hats, wedding accessories and much more.
Fashion Accessories and Crafts Paradise
Beautiful fabric flower brooches and hair accessories created by artist Sandra de'Dele, which will adorn every wearer, will be offered by the floral art studio "Allerode". There will also be a wide choice for brides-to-be, who will be able to browse various wedding accessories such as hair decorations, brooches, ring cushions and other accessories designed for that beautiful life event.
If you want to add a stylish and original accessory to your wardrobe, entrepreneur Antons Stepanovs will offer Latvian-made eyeglass and sunglasses frames "Mara" made from wood. Each wooden frame has its own unique wood grain pattern, and each frame is handmade. The wooden frames also stand out for their light weight and elegance. It should be noted that "Mara" wooden glasses have also been recognised by experts, winning the young entrepreneurs competition "Firmas noslēpums" and receiving an award of 10,000 lats for business development.
Jewellery adorns people, and people adorn jewellery! Lithuanian jewellery artist Rasa Bagone will present accessories for both women and men - earrings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, watches, cufflinks and tie pins. The jewellery created by the artist is unique, with refined elegance and delicacy. Dried flowers, silk, beads of various colours and sizes and metals are used in the creation of the jewellery.
Artist Madara Strazdiņa will offer jewellery made from precious metals, natural stones, semi-precious stones and gemstones that will enhance any woman's personality. The artist continuously seeks new design solutions so that the jewellery not only serves its main function - to adorn - but is also comfortable and long-lasting. Every visitor will have the opportunity to place an individual order to create jewellery according to their taste, ideas, wishes and budget.
Creative workshop "Timba", in the spirit of the Song and Dance Festival, will offer various knitted and crocheted folk costume accessories that will adorn the costumes of both festival participants and spectators. Exhibition visitors will also be presented with painted silk scarves, knitted and sewn mittens, bags and other accessories.
For anyone wishing to add an original work to their interior, "LatvianArt" will offer exclusive paintings made from Swarovski crystals. Exhibition visitors will be able to purchase ready-made paintings as well as place individual orders, choosing the painting's size, desired image, inscriptions and crystal colour. The quality and authenticity of the crystals used in the paintings is guaranteed by a certificate from "Swarovski Elements" representatives in Latvia.
Everything You Need for Crafts
Both experienced craftspeople with years of practice and anyone who has recently developed an interest in crafts will be able to find all the necessary craft materials and supplies at Ķīpsala over three days.

"Coats Latvija" will offer the widest range of embroidery threads, yarns and crochet threads in modern colour palettes, inspiring every needleworker to create something new and beautiful. "Coats Latvija" will also present a wide selection of embroidery kits and printed canvases in various embroidery techniques and styles.
Meanwhile "Šūplāde" will offer everything needed for making jewellery - stone, wood and glass beads, metal findings (earring hooks, clasps, spacers, pendants etc.), ribbons and cords, as well as jewellery-making tools.
Craft Masterclasses
Exhibition visitors will have the opportunity to participate in craft masterclasses organised by "Coats Latvija", led by artists Lolita Sīmane, Agnese Vaļiniece, Svetlana Semjonova and other craft professionals. "Coats Latvija" will also run a social project at the exhibition - "Make Finger Puppets!" - in which every craftsperson is invited to make (knit, sew or crochet) at least one finger puppet, which will be donated to children in children's homes through the charity portal ziedot.lv.

Art studio "Marissa Fleur" will invite exhibition visitors to learn the unique art of creating floral and sculptural miniatures, as well as hair accessories from self-hardening Japanese polymer clay "Deco Clay".
Everyone wishing to learn new skills, be original and create something unique with their own hands can attend the "Creative Courses", where participants will be able to make a variety of jewellery and accessories, try decoupage and felting, create candy bouquets and gift wrapping, try tapestry weaving, make toys and much, much more.
