White Night 2011 Coming Soon

The contemporary culture forum "White Night 2011" is taking place in Riga for the sixth time this year. This time on the night of 10th to 11th September. This year's motto: "Say neither yes nor no, neither white nor black!" The programme features 65 art and culture projects, mainly concentrated in the Centre, Old Riga, Andrejsala, Spīķeri, the VEF area and various parts of Pārdaugava.

Scanning through the events list, the following caught my attention:

- 3D projections and music in the pedestrian tunnel on 13. janvāra iela connecting the old town with Stockmann department store, running 20:30 – 01:00;

 - At RIXC Media Space 18:00 – 01:00 on 11. Novembra krastmala, a video installation by two British artists - Heliocentric, offering a view of Earth's orbit and rotation around the Sun;

- At the VEF area 20:00 – 03:00, a contemporary art exhibition Zero Point with 20 artists' various interpretations of this concept (I highlighted it because the VEF area spaces are, in my opinion, very well suited for contemporary art performances and exhibitions);

- At 1/4 Satori Office, Dzirnavu iela 84/2, 19:00–22:00, an opportunity to take part in Speed Dating Game 2#.
