A film about the tangles of relationships, love triangles and choices that are not so easily made, because one's current place or position is much more comfortable, secure and familiar than something new and unknown, even if longed for and desired. The film's subtitle "...как же быстро ты живешь" perhaps most aptly characterises the contrast between the characters' pace of life and the tavern where time seems to have stood still.
Today all roads for many led straight to Ķīpsala, where in the two halls of the exhibition centre the eyes could feast on the latest achievements of Latvian design, while next door one could explore the range on offer in furniture, sanitary ware, lighting, and other useful items for home and office.
At first there were light, soothing, and warming movements - a traditional back massage using sesame oil. Later the "gymnastics" began. I realised this was no Spa relaxation game, but rather a thorough and deep health massage that aims to get every stiff spot in the body moving.
This year for Researchers' Night we headed to the newly opened University of Latvia Natural Sciences Academic Centre in Torņakalns at 1 Jelgava Street. Our interest was sparked not so much by the planned events or lectures as by the building itself and a tour of it.
The shadow economy is perceived in society as a normal phenomenon. This is particularly pronounced in countries where the quality of state institutions and the services they provide is low, and consequently the level of trust in state power is also low.
I was preparing for the Spīķeri market, but unfortunately due to a sudden cold I had to stay home today. So I'm offering my handmade items to you, iinuu.lv visitor. The coasters are handmade. The base is a painted ceramic tile with a transferred image, coated with 2–3 layers of varnish. Soft pads on the bottom so the coaster won't scratch the table surface. Not recommended for washing, but can safely be wiped with a damp towel or cloth.
20 different coasters available. Images and motifs are unique (that would be boring otherwise, wouldn't it?), but there are thematic groups - sea theme (pirate, seagull, seal, penguin); patterned tile theme (4 coasters); Frida theme (3 coasters); retro theme (typewriter, Vespa, coffee, Andy Warhol) etc. Size 9.7x9.7 cm.
Price per coaster: €5/piece.
Pick-up in Riga; if you prefer by post, add shipping costs for a small parcel.

For a large part of their lives, people work towards other people's goals - formulated by someone else, stated, written down, taught, drilled in. Rarely does anyone stop to think about their own goals. Because what we actually need is not the achievement of goals as such, but the feelings that arise at the moment of achievement or on the way to the goal.
This year the impression arose that great emphasis was placed on cinema. Art films were shown at Spīķeri and on the wall of the Saeima building, documentary cinema at the contemporary arts centre kim?, and vertical cinema at the restored concert hall "Rīga" in the Academy of Sciences building. The last was something new and fresh for Riga audiences.
Having mastered such a general education programme, matriculated school graduates, thanks to the skills and abilities acquired, will be an irreplaceable and invaluable support in the broad labour market, on the path to the growth of the Latvian economy and the welfare of the working people!
If you have not yet become a cyclist but are considering the idea, you will most likely mentally run through the full cycling cycle from purchasing a bicycle to storing it. Not because there is anything complicated or difficult to overcome in this process - rather, it is new and unfamiliar.
