Art Nouveau Fashion in Riga
We visited the fashion historian Alexander Vasilyev's collection exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design. The exhibition is dedicated to fashion from the late 19th and early 20th century. Here one can truly feast one's eyes and gain a certain insight into the social history of that era.

Ladies' and gentlemen's attire (the former predominating) - evening dress, riding costumes, everyday dresses, wedding dresses, cold-season coats and capes. Countless small accessories that lend the entire exhibition a certain charm - handbags, purses, fans, perfume bottles, powder compacts, gloves, hairpins, and memo books.
Black-and-white portraits of fashionable ladies adorn the exhibition hall walls, while in the light of the spotlights, brooches and glass bead embroideries shimmer, interwoven with rich and exceptionally fine lace.
The exhibition can still be visited until 28 October this year, every day except Mondays. Adult admission - Ls 2.50.
