KinoLora Cinema - Sweet as Chocolate
Yesterday we discovered a lovely cinema where you can truly enjoy a film, and I want to recommend it to you. Being a fan of vampire films, I couldn't miss the new film „The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (2010). This time, drawn in by a chance advertisement, we headed to cinema „KinoLora", located in the „Šokolāde" shopping centre in Sigulda. Just a half-hour drive from Riga on the Vidzeme highway. We liked everything - from the friendly staff to the infinitely comfortable leather sofas for each viewer. Enough space to stretch your legs forward and set down a handbag or umbrella. No elbow-jostling with your neighbour, no craning over the heads of the row in front. Comfort we truly appreciated. You could almost forget you were watching a film in a cinema rather than on your sofa at home.

Despite the fact that this cinema is designed for eating during a screening, there was no distracting food smell or popcorn odour embedded in the carpet or seat fabric. The rooms were clearly well aired and tidied before the screening. Oh yes - each viewer had access to a pull-out tray on which the staff placed your order before the film - sushi, ice cream, a cocktail and so on.

The hall is small, so you can escape the crowds that reign in Riga cinemas. Čili Pizza loyalty card holders also get a 10% discount on ticket prices, and the cinema itself provides a stamp card where collecting stamps for 4 purchased tickets gets you the 5th for free.
The picture quality of the film itself is good - no blurry subtitles or colour shift, which can't be said about some Riga cinemas. Perhaps it's a virtue of the room, but what matters to me as a viewer is the enjoyment of the film, not thinking about what was or wasn't easy for the fitters. We sat in the 5th row in the middle in burgundy sofas (there's also another hall with black sofas) and it was great.
