Museum Night 2008

I would like to remind everyone that the annual Museum Night event is approaching, taking place this year on the night of May 17–18. This time it will be held within the festival „O!Germany", so most events will be dedicated to themes related to German culture and history. Notably, more and more museums across Riga and Latvia are taking part - and not just museums, but bookstores too. This opens up a wider range of choices, broader scope within the announced theme, and hopefully a larger audience as well.

I have taken advantage of this opportunity for two years running to visit museums for free (which may not be the most important thing) at a very convenient time for me – on the weekend and late in the evening from 19:00 to 01:00 (which matters, given how busy weekdays tend to be). It is a great opportunity to explore the permanent exhibitions and perhaps even take part in a special event dedicated to Museum Night.
