MUSEUM NIGHT 2009

A reminder for all museum and night event fans – this year the Museum Night event takes place on May 16th. Two years ago Museum Night was dedicated to France, last year to Germany. This year the main focus will be on Latvian culture and local themes. Its thematic framework is travel and the museums' jointly chosen motto "so where have you been then..."

The initiative was started by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication. To promote the event's visibility and accessibility across European countries, a website was created in France that reflects the event's progress in all participating countries - www.nuitdesmusees.culture.fr

The museum event runs from approximately 19:00 until the early hours of the next day. More and more museums from across Latvia are joining each year, so a significant part of the programme consists of offerings from regional museums. This year we plan to take a trip around Jūrmala. What about you?
