The Travelling Latgale Thematic Village Market Visits Riga
Just four days in December on weekends - the 1st and 2nd, and 15th and 16th - from 13:00 to 20:00 at the LIDO complex in Riga, there is a market featuring products from Latgale producers. Here you can purchase various delicacies lovingly made in Latgale - home cheese, gingerbread, Aglona bread (SIA "Cīši gords"), Preiļi wines (farm "Kalni", Count Borch's Preiļi Palace cellar wine, Kotler's Wine Village), as well as Advent wreaths, various knitwear, teas, beeswax candles and woven goods.

On site you could taste the cheese, wine and bread. We took home Raspberry and Blackcurrant wine from Preiļi. The first was already sampled this evening and turned out to be quite delicious. The bread baked in Aglona was also wonderful - offered at the market by Vija Ancāne, the owner of the bakery itself and the Aglona Bread Museum.
