Friday Observation. An Event

At the same time, on the opposite side of the table sat a man who visually resembled Čaks in his youth - in a dark floral shirt, brown suit, and a head shaved to zero. Quietly, as if hiding his intention, he also drew an iPhone from his suit pocket - only a white one. For about a minute he read something attentively, from time to time sliding the content with his thumb. Having finished reading, with an equally expressionless face he slid it back into the side pocket of his suit and turned his attention to what was happening at the table.

Friday observation :) An event in which mostly a dozen mutually slightly acquainted people participate, but who are united by one interest, this time decided to meet not on Thursday but on a Friday evening. Mostly young, occasionally middle-aged people, whose professional activity might be thought to be connected with entertainment in the broadest sense of the word.

Events were taking their course. The person next to me - a lady with blonde hair, slightly under thirty - drew out an iPhone and began carefully studying the calendar application, in which, it is true, there was not a single entry. Having twirled the little black brick in her hands, she fell into deep thought as if trying to remember something, and placed it in front of herself on the white tablecloth, alongside the other carefully arranged faience and glass objects already there. After some time, diverting my gaze from the speaker, I noticed that the little black bricks had appeared with three more people sitting at the table. Each of them, one after another, as if in response to an unheard command, picked up this wonder device, peered intently at it as if expecting some message - but having not found what they were waiting for, quickly put it back. The lady next to me wrote a text message with words and numbers that conveyed nothing to an outside observer, and later with remarkable regularity checked the FourSquare application, in which throughout the entire evening nothing changed at all. Such activity, I must say, created the impression less of a busy person than of a neurotic one.
