Alexander Pushkin (Александр Сергеевич Пушкин; 6 June 1799 - 10 February 1837) was a Russian poet, playwright, and prose writer, a reformer of the Russian literary language, and author of historically critical works. Pushkin is considered one of the most outstanding Russian writers and poets. His texts are regarded as among the most prestigious examples of Russian literary composition. While still alive Pushkin was called a genius, and from the second half of the 1820s he began to be considered the "greatest" Russian poet, with a cult developing around his persona.

 


Peter I Romanov (Пётр I; born 9 June 1672, died 8 February 1725; also known as Peter the Great - Пётр I Великий) was Tsar of Russia from 1682 and the first Emperor of Russia from 20 January 1721. Peter I remains one of the most popular historical figures in Russia to this day. He entered history through extensive and energetic reforms of the Russian state and Russian society, and an active foreign policy - he implemented a wide Russian expansion, as a result of which Russia became an empire.

 

Muammar Gaddafi (معمر القذافي, Muʿammar al-Qaḏḏāfī; born 7 June 1942, died 20 October 2011) was the leader of Libya since the coup d'état of 1969. Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Libya (1970–1972), General Secretary of the People's Congress (1977–1979). Since 1972, when Gaddafi relinquished the title of Prime Minister, he was referred to as Brotherly Leader and Guide of the Revolution. Following the death of Omar Bongo (Gabon) on 8 June 2009, he became the longest-serving holder of a head-of-state title among presidents and prime ministers. In 1969, when he led the coup against King Idris, Gaddafi was only 27 years old.
