Preparing for Easter at our house is in full swing. Today, we are paint Easter eggs in the old fashioned way - using peel onions and barley. To get Easter eggs more attractive and pattern, I had to donated two socks put barley into them and tied them in a bundle. When the dark red eggs where ready we proudly passed them to Easter bunny.

Flamenco group „Nuevo Ballet Espanol” visited Latvia repeatedly in 16 International Baltic ballet festival case. In 17 April in RigasKongresu house hall was sanged with sonorous Spain rhythms. Energy flowed from every dancers movement, music of flamenco and singing performance. Strong vitality wave encircled every auditor, who with every performance with clapping and ecstasy shouts very careful watched the performance.

From August 26 to 29 annual summer camp organised by flamenco dance studio "DUENDE" took place in Zvejniekciems, with the opportunity to meet all the dancers from the studio in one place and learn from guest artists - flamenco teachers from Spain. I used the opportunity to attend two days of compa classes taught by percussionist Andrej Vujicic, as well as tangos and algeria dance techniques taught by flamenco dancer Francesca Grimm. Latvian dancers were joined by Lithuanian dancers at the training.

Although yesterday we couldn`t enjoy all of the events of the festival because of the bleak drizzle, we did attend some of them and it was interesting.

For the third summer already we visited Madona where an Exotic dance festival took place in the premises of the recreation centre on July 31. A big thank you to Sandra from "Mantigra" for the enthusiasm to organize such events. I must say that each year the event becomes more organized, diversified and attended. In addition to traditional belly dance choreography as oriental, saidi, tribal original pieces and different mixtures of styles were performed. Several gypsy dances and improvisation with Spanish, Moroccan, Brazilian, Indian dance styles.

It has been often heard that bargaining for Turkish people is a popular national sport; this summer we made sure this is completely true! We visited and shopped in two bazaars in Istanbul - Grand Bazaar and Spice or Egyptian Bazaar. The first one of them, the Grand Bazaar is a complete craziness - streets covered with painted vaults for numerous blocks, thousands of shops that flicker in any possible colour, items stored in numerous shelves, talkative sellers (100% male) who talk to you in Russian and English and ask you to come in to immediately start "manipulating" with you.

The idea to go to a Turkish bath or hamam belonged to two ladies from our Istanbul trip group. As nothing like that was mentioned in the programme, we were not prepared for this idea, but immediately accepted it being driven by curiosity. Our guide Ibrahim immediately agreed to organize a trip to Suleymaniye Hamam in the evening, which is located next to Suleymaniye Mosque. The bath was designed and built in 1550 by architect Sinan. This is the only bath that men and women can attend together because it is just for tourists, locals never go there.
